About Us

Jaime Escalante Elementary was established on August 16, 2010 who serve the communities of  Bell, Cudahy, and Maywood. We are a Public School Choice that offers grades TK through 6th. We are excited to share some wonderful news—our school has been named a California Distinguished School! This prestigious award is given by the California Department of Education to public schools that demonstrate outstanding student achievement and a strong commitment to educational excellence.

Parent and Family Literacy Workshops Series: Unlocking the Power of iReady

A family literacy workshop that introduces parents to i-Ready and effective read-aloud strategies to support student reading growth. Participants will learn how to use i-Ready resources and interactive reading techniques to strengthen comprehension, vocabulary, and reading skills at home. Please see attached flyer.

Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 LAUSD Title I Parent and Family Engagement Policy

The District will involve parents in the joint development of LAUSD’s Local
Educational Agency (LEA) Plan through the Title I Parent Study Groups and the
Title I Focus Group. Recommendations from parents about the Local Educational
Agency Plan will be published annually.
The District will issue the following directives, tools, and trainings to ensure
schools have the necessary information they need to effectively engage and
communicate with parents in the plan writing process associated with school
support and improvement.

Jaime Escalante Elementary-School Accountability Report Card

A SARC, or School Accountability Report Card, is an annual report mandated by the state of California for all public schools to provide parents and the community with data on school performance, environment, resources, and demographics. Published by February 1st, it helps parents make informed enrollment decisions and tracks school progress.

A hard copy of the SARC is available in the main office upon request.
